Amazon Prime Gaming June 2023 Free Games

Amazon's gaming wing is back with another round of free games for Prime members this month. Starting on June 1, Prime Gaming subscribers will be able to claim 13 titles for the month.

In June 2023, Prime members will have a fresh list of Amazon Prime Gaming free games. After dropping a second helping of games late into May’s catalog, Amazon Prime Gaming is back with 13 free titles that gamers can claim throughout June 2023.

Highlights include the side-scrolling beat ’em-ups Sengoku 2 and Mutation Nation, the racing game Over Top, and the action game The Super Spy. Also on offer is platform mining adventure SteamWorld Dig 2 and a month of exclusive in-game loot for Riot’s Valorant.

Sengoku 2 – June 1

The June 2023 lineup for Prime Gaming includes arcade beat ’em ups Sengoku 2. SNK released “SENGOKU 2” in 1993 as a side-scrolling action game.

In Sengoku 2, you will play the part of a warrior who has been called by a shrine princess and battle through various eras to thwart the Dark Monarch.

Sengoku 2 will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 1.

Mutation Nation – June 1

A mad scientist is conducting unethical genetic experiments that end up mutating the populace into horrific monsters. It’s up to two bad dudes and their cyborg-modified companions to fight mutants, green dogs, plant ladies, multi-armed bosses, octopus-headed dudes, and ants with human faces… you get the point; this is one weird game.

Mutation Nation is a pretty good arcade beat ’em up, even though it doesn’t do anything particularly new or interesting with the genre. The attack button busts out strings of attacks, the jump button sends you a sensible distance into the air, and pressing both together executes a special move.

Mutation Nation will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 1.

SOCCER BRAWL – June 8

SNK published the soccer video game SOCCER BRAWL in 1992. Teams from eight different nations compete for the championship as fireworks fly. Teams compete in future matches with seven robot players instead of the usual eleven, allowing the defense to attack as well as for different arrangements.

In this entertaining soccer game, you will kick, punch, and duel against robot players representing various nations.

SOCCER BRAWL will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 8.

Over Top – June 8

In the top-down rally racing game Over Top, players race across various locations while watching from above while competing against AI-controlled opponents. Each location has its own weather patterns that affect how the car is driven along the track and offer shortcuts to gain an advantage over rivals.

In this extreme racing game, you’ll race through beautiful locations like cities, mountains, and snowy roads.

Over Top will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 8.

The Super Spy – June 15

Early Neo Geo games include The Super Spy, which SNK released in 1990. Players move through the various floors of an office building, shooting terrorists in this first-person shooter and beat ’em-up game with action role-playing elements.

The player character’s arms and weapons are displayed on the screen because it is a first-person game. Similar gameplay was found in ADK’s Crossed Swords in 1991, but it focused more on role-playing and used hack-and-slash combat rather than shooting and fistfighting.

While moving through a large building to free prisoners, players must punch, kick, and use weapons to defeat enemies.

The Super Spy will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 15.

Top Hunter – June 15

SNK created the side-scrolling arcade beat ’em up platform game Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy for the Neo Geo in 1994. Additionally, it was made available on the Wii Virtual Console and Neo Geo CD. On May 1, 2008, the game was re-released as a component of SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, and on January 10, 2018, it was included in the ACA Neo Geo series for the PlayStation 4.

In this side-scrolling action game, you must jump, shoot, throw, and use special attacks to defeat space pirates who seek total dominance.

Top Hunter will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 15.

SteamWorld Dig 2 – June 15

A single-player 2D platform action-adventure Metroidvania video game, SteamWorld Dig 2 was created and released by Image & Form. It is the fourth game in the SteamWorld series and the immediate follow-up to SteamWorld Dig from 2013. Wikipedia

In this platform mining adventure inspired by vintage Metroidvania-style games, dig deep, amass wealth, and uncover the horrors of the underworld.

SteamWorld Dig 2 will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 15.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition – June 22

The third-person role-playing video game Neverwinter Nights was created by BioWare. The game was originally going to be published by Interplay Entertainment, but due to financial issues, Infogrames took over and released it under their Atari line of games.

Players will take on the role of a hero summoned to save his homeland in the reimagined roguelike adventure Neverwinter Nights. This updated version of the iconic game features important community-endorsed improvements like backward compatibility and mod support.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 22.

Autonauts – June 22

If you’ve been feeling a little jaded by the reams of repetitive, grind-heavy games out there, Autonauts is the kind of refreshingly different simulation that will really catch your eye. It has a very cute, low-poly style and cursor-based controls, but it’s also surprisingly in-depth, with a thriving, evolving world that’s completely your own. As the game progresses, you’ll create a bunch of robots that you can instruct to do any number of tasks, from logging and mining to cooking and farming.

You will create an ever-evolving autonomous paradise of agriculture, industry, and enlightenment with your colony by building, creating, and automating in Autonauts.

Autonauts will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 22.

Revita – June 22

With a nod to classics like Zelda, Revita offers a fun twist on the roguelike genre. The player controls an amnesic child who awakens at a subway station with no memory and is forced to ascend a mysterious clock tower. Each run of the game presents different enemy types and challenges, and a wide variety of power-ups are available to help the player overcome them.

The game’s personality shines through the 16-bit graphics, which are clearly an ode to the great games of the past. The large sprites give the characters and enemies a unique look that’s well-executed and memorable. The music and sound effects are also a joy to experience, creating an authentic feel for the game.

While some may consider the game a bit repetitive due to its simple structure, Revita is still an enjoyable roguelike. The player is free to experiment with the many upgrades and try different combinations of power-ups to find the right combination for their style of play. It’s also easy to get caught up in trying to beat each run with a high score, which adds to the replay value.

Revita will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 22.

Roguebook – June 29

Rather than simply providing players with a collection of characters to select from and sending them out to battle, Roguebook is all about giving players the power to shape their journeys. As such, the hero and sidekick selection process is the starting point, but after that, the player is left to chart their own path on a map populated by both helpful treasure and unhelpful foes.

Here, Roguebook truly shines, thanks to a blend of precision balancing and entertaining design. Combat is a simple affair; sword swipes here and kickflips there, but the depth of gameplay helps keep things interesting, and the variety of exploration options keeps them fresh.

For example, the game’s main mechanic revolves around an ink system that lets players fill in large spots of the map with brush strokes or create more precise, linear paths with ink wells. But even the latter can be used up in battle, making for a game that requires careful consideration of your resources. It’s a neat idea that elevates the game beyond the more basic fare, helping it stand out among the crowd of similarly styled offerings. Ultimately, this is a solid, imaginative title from Richard Garfield, the man responsible for Magic: The Gathering and many other classic card games. It’s well worth a look.

Roguebook will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 29.

Once Upon a Jester – June 29

The wacky world of Once Upon a Jester, an improv theatre game from Dutch indie game developer Bonte Avond, is sure to entertain. You play as the aptly-named Jester and his sock puppet friend Sok, two friends who are trying to pull off the ultimate stage show heist. As you perform in different towns, your goal is to win audience members over with dramatic monologues and zany jokes. You must do this in order to impress the royal audience and earn a spot at their Royal Theatrical Spectacle, where you can nab that precious diamond.

The game is an adorable, light-hearted romp that will leave you with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Its cozy aesthetics and charming characters make for a great three-hour adventure. Its improvisational gameplay may be simplistic, but the branching dialogue and varied genres add a lot of replay value.

Once Upon a Jester will be available for free on Amazon Games App for Amazon Prime subscribers from June 29.

Gems of Destiny: Homeless Dwarf – June 29

Gems of Destiny: Homeless Dwarf is a Match 3 game that follows the story of dwarf Axel as he builds a town for his friends and neighbors. As you play, you’ll collect and use various boosters to complete challenging puzzles and progress through the hand-drawn world of Axel.

You can discover an intriguing tale about the dwarf Axel and his quest to find a new city for himself and his companions.
